Abstract

O objectivo do presente artigo é fazer uma análise breve das características da poesia concreta e sugerir algumas possibilidades de tradução de um poema do autor português António Aragão. Com este fim, as autoras farão uma reflexão teórica sobre as dificuldades inerentes ao processo de tradução poética e apresentarão uma explicação minuciosa das estratégias de tradução utilizadas na transposição do poema português para a língua inglesa. It is the aim of the present article to briefly analyse the characteristics of concrete poetry and to suggest some translating possibilities for a poem by the Portuguese author António Aragão. For this purpose, the authors will undertake a theoretical reflection on the difficulties inherent to the process of poetry translation and provide a step-by-step explanation of the translatory strategies employed in the transposition of this Portuguese poem to the English language.
