Research in personality has benefited from the introduction of the HEXACO model and will arguably be positively influenced by its wider adoption. However, process-oriented personality researchers should bear in mind that broad models of personality like the HEXACO should serve primarily as coordinate systems. A view of personality as a continuum phenomenon, as opposed to a discrete set of traits, as well as the possibility to make finer distinctions within the personality realm, is crucial for further advancing the field.
