Abstract

A selection of the main criteria used in different countries is compiled and the risks of stablishing too quick red-data lists pointed out. Suggestions for the future selection of species with possible need to be protected are added, looking forward to be proposed as an appendix to include in the Bern Convention. Finally, a list of 44 species of rare fungi in Spain is shown, for the other Spanish mycologist's consideration.
