Parte II: Tratamiento

Abstract

[EN] The ongoing increase in the prevalence of childhood and adolescence obesity and the increasing incidence of overweight associated comorbidities have led to the promotion of national and international strategies focused, not only in prevention, but also on the management of obesity in early stages of life. Despite primary prevention keeps on holding the starring role in childhood obesity, the current prevalence of obesity related comorbidities in children and adolescents oblige these strategies to deal with the need for optimizing treatment interventions that can be offered to children and adolescents. This second special article from the Clinical Practice Guideline for prevention and treatment of childhood and adolescence obesity will update the current available evidence about the components of treatment for childhood obesity, as well as the existing evidence based recommendations.
