Abstract

Abstract: The potential value of the archaeological record in Manzanares valley, to the establishment of the Middle Palaeolithic beginning, is well known since decades. The find of lithic industry, fauna and pollen, in low energy facies, attributed to the first third of the Upper Pleistocene in HAT (a gravel pit in San Martín de la Vega, central Spain) turns the Madrid Basin into an exceptional area within the understanding of this topic Once the main problems about this topic are exposed, it is showed how the Quaternary of Madrid Basin contribute to work out them.
