[EN] When in hybrid corn, grown under good conditions of soil fertility and water supply, was cut the upper part of the plant, just leaving one single leave over the cob insertion point, and as consequence of lessened sinthetical processes, lowest yield of grain and reduced proteinic content of it, were clearly observed. In five years experiences the reduction varies between 8,2 Qm/Ha. and 13,8 Qm/Ha., expressed on dried grain (between 10,3% and 16,2% when refered to the whole plant production); varying the decrease of the proteinic content of the grain, between 0,37%.a nd 0.82 %. When just the tassel was cut the differences observed has not statistical significance. In none of both cases are affected the grain levels of P, K, Mg, Ca and S.
