Abstract

[EN]: There has been done a comparative study of eight soil profiles in the Vertisol order, in the Guadalquivir Valley, in order to show the different degree of hydromorphy that they present. Four favorable situations have been chosen: opened depressions, closed depressions, fluvial terraces and situation of sandy contamination. It has been found a different degree of hidromorphy in each case, and also, a degradation of the vertic character into a typic hydromorphic soil. This hydromorphic character, which is very important for the estimation of the land use, cannot be differenciate at a subgroup level in the Soil Taxonomy, and soil with or without hydromorphy must be include in the same subgroup of Typic Pelloxererts. Considering that these characteristics appears, in nearly all of the cases with an acuic regime, it is proposed to included them in the old suborder of AQUERTS.
