Abstract

[EN] The stomach contents of 1761 M. poutassou and 1434 G. a. argenteus have been examined. Pelagic invertebrates and teleosts are found in the stomachs more frecuently that any other group (Table 1). The proportion of teleosts, Decapoda Natantia and cephalopods in the stomach contents of M. poutassou increases with the length of the fish (Table 2, Fig. 2). A certain relationship is found between the percentage of empty stomachs (in both species) and spawning period. There is a significant correlation between abundance of prey in the diet and environment.
