Transformaciones microtexturales de esmectita a illita, en presencia de amonio

Abstract

Durante la diagénesis se producen reacciones que afectan tanto a los filosilicatos como a la materia orgánica, ligadas a la generación de hidrocarburos, que lleva a la fijación de amonio en las illitas y en las micas (Williams & Ferrell, 1991). Además, los minerales del grupo de las esmectitas sufren reorganizaciones estructurales que implican el aumento de carga tetraédrica y la adsorción y fijación de K+ (NH4+), que lleva a la formación de capas de illita en interestratificados illita/esmectita (I/S) e illita. Los mecanismos de reacción propuestos se basan en dos procesos: i) disolución/re-precipitación y ii) transformación en estado sólido. Importante, en condiciones neutras el amonio puede actuar como un ácido débil en solución y contribuir a la disolución de la esmectita. Con objeto de estudiar la posible influencia del NH 4+ en la reacción de illitización de la esmectita, se ha llevado a cabo la caracterización de una serie de filosilicatos obtenidos por tratamiento de esmectitas (montmorillonita) en condiciones hidrotermales, a partir de sistemas con contenido variable en amonio.

Este estudio ha sido realizado como parte del Proyecto PY20_01389 financiado por Junta de Andalucía-Consejería de Economía y Conocimiento y por “FEDER una manera de hacer Europa”.
