Since 1994, the Escuela Espñaola de Historia y Arqueología en Roma (CSIC), together with the Soprintendenza Archeologica per il Lazio, have been directing a scientific research project which aims to study the ancient city of Tusculum. since 1996 the Centro de Arqueología de Mérida, the Museum d'Arqueologia de Cataluña-Ampurias and the Universities of La Rioja and País Vasco have also taken part in this project.
