The slope of the form factor for pi^0 → e+ e- γ and the real part of the amplitude for pi^0 → e+ e- are calculated by means of the quark triangle mechanism. The correct sign for the form factor slope is reproduced. The pi^0 → e+ e- rate obtained is slightly larger than the unitarity limit and smaller than the present experimental rate.
