This article presents a review on growth of the cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis) under laboratory conditions as well as in wild populations. Growth in captivity under different conditions relating to culture density, prey type and density, temperature and tank size is reported. Growth studies using artificial feeds are also reported. Growth in wild populations is focused upon considering recent results based on age-size frequency distributions and biochemical indices, where some new data are given. The effect of some environmental factors on growth is also reported.
