Abstract

El Cretácico inferior del Anticlinorio de Bilbao está constituido por un potente conjunto de materiales sedimentarios, que tradicionalmente se ha organizado mediante tres sistemas de referencia: Wealdense, Urgoniano y Supraurgoniano. Se han muestreado las facies pelíticas, en cuatro secciones transversales a la estructura, y mediante DRX se ha determinado la mineralogía de arcillas, el índice de Kubler (IK) y algunos otros parámetros cristaloquímicos para la illita. Los minerales de la arcilla encontrados son heredados en gran parte. Los interestratificados illitalesmectita y el IK definen un grado diagenético que aumenta con la profundidad de enterramiento, encontrándose tramos de evolución media, profunda y el estadio de anquizona en el área centra!. Existen determinadas anomalías mineralógicas que son explicadas a partir de la contribución del detritismo en la mineralogía y/o ligadas a la propia dinámica del medio sedimentario.
