El descubrimiento de los rayos X

Abstract

En esta conferencia se realizan algunos de los experimentos que llevaron al descubrimiento de los rayos X en 1895. Para ello se utiliza instrumental científico de interés histórico que forma parte del patrimonio del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). En el descubrimiento de los Rayos X convergen diferentes itinerarios históricos, cada uno con su bagaje de conocimientos y sus hipótesis referentes a la constitución de la materia. Entre estos caminos, que confluyeron el año 1895, en el laboratorio de Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, vamos a citar el de soplado de vidrio, el descubrimiento de la luminiscencia, el desarrollo de la producción del vacío, los descubrimientos en electromagnetismo y el invento de la fotografía. Este descubrimiento tuvo importantes aplicaciones en medicina, cristalografía y en el estudio de materiales y además inspiro el descubrimiento de la radiactividad.

Conferencia-taller con el título “El descubrimiento de los rayos X” impartida por Esteban Moreno Gómez (El CSIC en la Escuela y Plan de Recuperación de Instrumentos Históricos del CSIC) en el marco de las VII Jornadas entre docentes, asesores de formación y científicos con motivo del 30 aniversario del programa "El CSIC en la Escuela".
