Catalyst device, method for manufacture thereof and use thereof for obtaining hydrogen

Abstract

The invention concerns a novel catalyst device, the method for manufacture thereof and use thereof in solid-gas heterogeneous phase reactions for obtaining hydrogen. In particular, said catalyst device comprises a support coated with an aerogel, said aerogel comprising at least one transition metal. The device as per the invention can be heated in air and does not require a preliminary activation stage for carrying out reformate reactions with ethanol vapour or bioethanol reformate in order to obtain hydrogen, and is therefore especially suitable for generating hydrogen in situ.
