Sheet with platinum metallic bronze coating, method for obtaining same and applications thereof

Abstract

[EN] The production of platinum metallic bronzes requires costly chemical processes that give rise to the production of small amounts of such compounds and mixtures. The present invention provides a sheet with platinum metallic bronze coating and a method for synthesizing said compounds and also for depositing said mixtures on large surfaces in the form of a coating with a high leve1 of specificity, this being a decisive factor in specific applications. The way in which the coatings are produced comprises partial thermal reduction of platinum dioxide in a free atmosphere accompanied by diffusion of sodium ions from the substrate, which allows control of the final components of the coating. This material may be used as hydrogenation catalyst and as electrode.
