Abstract

[ES] Damos a conocer los balsamarios hallados en la Península Ibérica. Al mismo tiempo, revisamos la bibliografía extranjera y elaboramos una síntesis de las controvertidas polémicas que suscitan este tipo de vaso plástico. Hacemos un estudio comparativo teniendo en cuenta los balsamarios procedente de otras provincias del imperio. Estudiamos los aspectos formales, estilísticos, la funcionallidad y uso, la cronología, su simbología religiosa y otra serie de elementos que permiten insertar dicha producción en la vida cotidiana de los romanos.

[EN] The article offers a complete catalogue of al1 unguentaria founded in the Iberian Peninsula. At the same time, it reviews the moat important modern literature on the subject and elaborates a synthesis of the complex discussions generated by this special kind of roman plastic vase There is a comparative study of others unguentaria and discuses formal, stylistic, chronological, religious problems of them and others aspects is of the production of these vases in the roman daily life.
