Abstract

Este trabajo se ha realizado dentro del Programa Consolider de Investigación en Tecnologías para la valoración y conservación del Patrimonio Cultural- TCP-CSD2007-00058, y ha sido financiado también por el Proyecto Intramural de Frontera del CSIC «Paisajes culturales y naturales del Bierzo: Geoarqueología, Paleoambiente y Paleobiología (BierzoRVN) » (PIF 06-055) y en el marco del convenio de colaboración entre la Junta de Castilla y León y el CSIC sobre zonas mineras antiguas de Castilla y León (CyLIA- 24.044.0006.07)

Este trabajo presenta el análisis palinológico emprendido en el yacimiento romano de Castro Ventosa (El Bierzo, León). La lectura del diagrama polínico permite percibir las distintas fases de ocupación del sitio en época romana y posiblemente también medieval. Se discute el cambio en las bases paleoeconómicas, relacionadas con el cultivo de cereales y castaño, entre ambos periodos, así como la incidencia de la presión pastoral.
