El paleoceno de la alta cadena (subbetico interno, Cordillera Betica) implicaciones en la evolución geodinamica del paleomargen sud-iberico

Abstract

La complejidad estructural de la región de la Alta Cadena (Subbético Interno de la Provincia de Málaga) y la baja calidad de los afloramientos no ha permitido definir formalmente formaciones en los materiales paleocenos de plataforma abierta. No obstante, sí se indican los lugares de mejor exposición de las series, proponiendo una división en dos secuencias deposicionales: Secuencia Deposicional del Paleoceno Inferior (SDPI) y Secuencia Deposicional del Paleoceno Superior (SDPS) que, a su vez, queda dividida en dos parasecuencias (P1 y P2) obtenidas a partir del estudio mineralógico. Se definen estas secuencias a partir del reconocimiento de las superficies de discontinuidad que las delimitan, siendo éstas interpretadas como debidas a procesos tectónicos, en unos casos, o a procesos eustáticos, en otros. Se propone la evolución geodinámica de estos materiales mediante el estudio estratigráfico, mineralógico y análisis sedimentario. De forma complementaria se apuntan las principales características de sus áreas fuente durante este período.
