Arquitectura religiosa almorávide

Abstract

Son prácticamente inexistentes los restos de construcciones religiosas almorávides en al-Andalus. Para analizar las características e innovaciones aportados por este movimiento religiosos y político hemos de acudir a algunos ejemplos que aún se conservan en el norte de África, entre Argelia y Marruecos. Aunque su capital Marrakech contó con la mezquita más importante de las por ellos construidas, su pronta destrucción a manos almohades nos obliga a analizar los ejemplos más significativos que se han conservado principalmente en Argelia. El contenido de esta ponencia se presentó en las III Jornadas internacionales de Arqueología de al-Andalus, celebradas en Alicante y Elche durante los días 30 y 31 de octubre de 2017.
