The main morphological, physico-chemical, mineralogical and micromorphological characteristics of the fersiallitic soils developed on the basaltic materials in the more humid areas at the Northern zone of the Island of La Palma, are herein studied. These soils represent one of the last stages of evolution of the fersiallitic soils. The ecological conditions of great humidity and variations of temperature, make this profil very poor in bases and silica and showing and acid pH in all horizons. The alteration is very significant, and the percentage of primary minerals in the profil does not reach 10%. The rate SiO1/Al2O3 in the whole soil is very close to 2.
