Análisis de Elementos Contaminantes en Especies Arbóreas en la Localidad de Lastenia (Provincia de Tucumán, Argentina): 1- Metales Pesados

Abstract

[EN] The amount if seven potentially toxic trace elements, are studied in leaves of four tree species placed near a lead smelter at Lastenia Town . A comparison among their concentration values and those obtained for the same species at Verba Buena Town, is made. Jacaranda mimosifolia is the species which has the highest concentration of Cr, Cu, Pb, Zn and Cd and this fact is not observed for Co and Ni. The distance from the contamination focus could be the main factor that determinate the element concentration in leaves. The highest concentration if Cu, Pb, Zn and Cd, was detected close to the smelter, this correlation is no so direct for Cr, Co and Ni.
