Abstract

[EN] In this work are showed the first results on the incidence of rotational, permanent and no-suplemented grazing, in a mediterranean scrub dominated by kermes oak (Quercus coccifera), mastic tree (Pistada lentiscus) and juniper (JuniPerus oxycedrus). The observations were made during the autunm-winter of 1995-96. It was observed that the surface covered by the scrub diminished in the grazed plots, by contrast with the ungrazed ones. The perennial, herbaceous species which were consumed completely, namely Carex halleriana and Helictotrichon filifolium, recovered only the 10-20 % of their initial biomass ten months after being grazed; however, this fact could be influenced by the low precipitations recorded in spring and summer. By contrast, rosemary (Rasmarinus officinalis), which was also heavily grazed, recovered well its biomass in the same period.
