Abstract

[EN] Aiming the reduccion of CO2 capture costs and energy efficiency improvements, there is an intense work worlwide to develop advanced CCS tecnologies. Among them, Ca-looping technologies that are based on the reversible reaction at high temperature between CO2 and CaO. As these are high temperature processes, it is possible to recover the excess energy in the process to be integrated in a steam cycle to generate power and therfore to reduce the energy penalty of the capture process. Nowadays, the Ca-looping process has been demostrated, integrated in a power plant, at the 1.7 MWt scale.
