Evaluación de biomarcadores en carcinoma ductal in situ de mama: expresión inmunohistoquímica y correlación clinicopatológica

Abstract

El carcinoma ductal in situ (CDIS) es una forma no invasiva de cáncer de mama que puede progresar a cáncer invasivo. Es una lesión caracterizada por una heterogeneidad significativa, en términos de morfología, tinción inmunohistoquímica (IHQ), firmas moleculares y expresión clínica. La identificación de los factores que predicen la recidiva local tanto en la forma in situ o como invasiva facilitarían las recomendaciones de tratamiento. Los cambios biológicos en los diversos componentes celulares del CDIS, que incluyen las células epiteliales tumorales, las células mioepiteliales y las células del estroma, pueden ser la clave para determinar si una lesión determinada evolucionará o no a carcinoma invasivo. Para algunos pacientes, la escisión quirúrgica proporciona el tratamiento adecuado, pero un subconjunto de pacientes experimentará la recurrencia de CDIS o la progresión a carcinoma ductal invasivo (CDI).
