[EN] The morphological, physicochemcial and micromorphological characteristics of a complex soil profile from Las Mercedes area. Las Lajas, in tenerife (Canary Islands) are studied. Tje soil is placed on Tertiary eruptive volvcanic formations and is affected by erosion and colluvial phenomena. The complex profile has a surficial part giving a positive reatcion to the Na F test. The A horizon shows strong humification and andic soil characteristics such as isotic fabric and abundant packing voids and several paleososls and soil sediments with tropical ferallitic features can be recognizad underneath. Abundant gibbsite is identified in the II layer. All observed paleosols show signs of clay translocation.
