Sobre Gammarus interesantes de España

Abstract

[EN] Description of a form of Gammarus locusta, frequent in the brackish waters of Northeastern Spain, including the Balearic islands, identified with the ‘‘forme saumâtre” of Rancurel (1949) and with the subsp. aequicauda, (Martynov) Schellenberg. Data on distribution (4 to 24 %a salinity), food (algae and vegetable detritus), epibionts (Cocconcis, Synedra, Epistylis) and parasites (a prostérnate trematoda). Number of eggs may be expressed with approximation in lineal function or the cube of the length of egg bearing female, and is lower that in the typical form of locusta. Egg volume is somewhat greater. Gamarus pulex subsp. ibericau subsp. nov. is described from Cuenca. Its affinities are with G. pulex gallicus from the Pyrenees and with G. pulex gauthieri from Northern Africa. Ornamentation of urosome and telson (fig. 2, b) are distinctive features. Gammaus pulex pulex extends with great morphological homogeneity over a very large area, but did not reach Spain; the quoted West Mediterranean subspecies are older than subsp. pulex or dispersed in more ancient times. [...] Gammarus locusta (L.) Sars subs. aequicauda (Martynov), G. zaddachi salinus, G. duebeni, G. aequicauda (Martynov), G. troglophilus, G. setosus, G. wilkitzkii, Gammarus pulex (L.) subsp. ibericus nov. subsp. Margalef, G. pulex subsp. fossrum, balcanicus (Koch) (= G. delebecquei Chevr. et de Guerne), G. pulex subsp. gallicus Karaman, G. pulex subsp. pulex (L), G. pulex subsp. gauthieri (Karam.) Schell (= Rivulogammarus Gauthieri Karaman) [...]
