Da Universidade ao mercado de trabalho: Perceções de competência, formação e condições de integração profissioal de graduados da Universidade do Minho

Abstract

A empregabilidade dos graduados representa um tópico de interesse crescente por parte das instituições de ensino superior, que têm progressivamente procurado ajustar a qualidade da formação oferecida às novas realidades e exigências do mercado de trabalho. Neste sentido, procuramos com esta comunicação efetuar a caracterização de uma amostra de 253 graduados da Universidade do Minho, das áreas de Economia, Engenharia, Ciências Sociais e Direito. Com base nas suas respostas a um questionário, analisamos as perceções pessoais de competências nos momentos pré e pós-transição para o mercado de trabalho, as características da formação obtida e as condições relativas à sua integração profissional, cerca de 18 meses após a conclusão dos estudos superiores. A partir dos resultados analisados, pretende-se contribuir para a compreensão dos fatores associados à empregabilidade e à qualidade da transição entre a universidade e o mercado de trabalho, retirando algumas implicações para as práticas institucionais de ensino-aprendizagem e de formação dos estudantes ao longo da sua graduação.
