Los canales Kv1.3 tienen un papel pro-proliferativo que ha sido descrito en células de músculo liso de diversos lechos vasculares tanto de ratón como humano. Este papel conservado podría reflejar una asociación obligada entre los canales Kv1.3 y el remodelado vascular, incrementando su valor como una nueva diana terapéutica. El objetivo de esta tesis es estudiar los mecanismos y determinantes moleculares involucrados en la función pro- proliferativa de los canales Kv1.3, mediante la sobreexpresión de estos canales y canales mutantes del Kv1.3 en un sistema heterólogo como las células HEK293.
