Abstract

[EN] The lanternfishes (fam. Myctophidae) caught during five oceano-graphic fishing cruises carried out in the Southeast Atlantic between 1979 and 1982 are studied from the point of view of their zoogeography. Four of these cruises took place in the upwelling area of the Benguela Current off the coast of Namibia; during the fifth cruise an oceanic area vvas also explored, that of the Valdivia Bank, about 400 miles from the coast.
