Abstract

[ES] La campaña oceanográfica ATLOR V constituye un nuevo eslabón de la serie de campañas programadas según el objetivo de estrecha colabo-ración entre la investigación oceanográfica y biológica pesquera que ha venido desarrollándose a lo largo de la plataforma situada en frente de Africa Centro-Occidental y principalmente entre los paralelos 23º y 26º N. Esta serie de campañas se inicia en 1971 con la expedición SAHARA I, con un recorrido exploratorio en continuo ya dos niveles entre punta Stafford (27º N) y Nouakchott (17º N) con el fin de obtener una visión globalizada de la zona, durante la cual se realizaron unas pocas experimentales cuyo objetivo fundamental no era otro que la identificación inicial de las especies más importantes en las zonas que se consideraron de especial interés pesquero.
