Abstract

[EN] The eastern termination of the boundary region between the North Atlantic and South Atlantic water masses lies off the coast of Mauritania, and the 24ºC surface isotherm demarks the boundary between the two water masses (fig. 1). INGHAM (1970) showed that the front moves north in spring and summer, reaching its most northerly position, 20º N, about July or August. It moves south in the fall, reaching its southernmost position, approximately 10º N, in January. [ES] Empleandola concentración en silicato se ha reconocido la distribucion de las agus correspondientes a la Corriente de Canarias y a la Contracorriente de Canarias, en el área frente a las costas del Sahara español y de Mauritania, entre los 50 y los 700 m de profundidad.
