Abstract

Se presentan las propuestas teóricas y metodológicas que han guiado la investigación del Grupo de Investigación Arqueometal, centrada en la metalurgia desde sus inicios hasta la Edad Media. El análisis elemental mediante XRF, la microscopia electrónica de barrido (MEB) y la metalográfia óptica han sido las herramientas utilizadas y han generado un corpus documental de gran magnitud. Toda esta información analítica, junto a la documentación contextual y gráfica de los materiales constituye un referente único para la historia de la Tecnología metalúrgica y su papel en el desarrollo de las sociedades complejas desde la Prehistoria Reciente.
