Abstract

[EN] Fishery is defined as the interaction between the biological development of the resources and the economic stimulation of the fishing process. Both aspects are analized from a general point of viex, pointing out their coordination and parallelism, with particular attention to theri incidence on the Balearic Sea fishery. Emphasis is given to the influence of the marginal economic factor -de luxe consumption- as a stimulating element of an activity that, from the point of view of the resource situation, is considered to be at an extremely low level, although no collapsed.
