Ballet Petit Diumenge: grafisme musical i teoria de la informació

Abstract

L'objectiu d'aquest article és posar de relleu l'aplicació de la teoria de la informació en el camp musical, així com la influència de l'aspecte gràfic com a fil conductor de la partitura del ballet Petit Diumenge, amb text de Joan Brossa i música de Josep Maria Mestres Quadreny. Partint de les fonts de la pròpia partitura i d'arxius personals del compositor entorn aquesta obra, es duu a terme un anàlisis d'alguns fragments la partitura. D'aquesta manera es constata l'aportació original del compositor a nivell formal, allunyant-se de les tradicionals formes d'estructura de gran part de la música occidental. L'anàlisi permet posar en evidència la intenció del compositor per oferir un llenguatge propi i, alhora, vinculat a un concepte estètic d'avantguarda musical
