El presente texto revisa los principales temas y líneas de investigación seguidas en el estudio de la Guerra de independencia de Cuba (1895-1898) en su vertiente de guerra hispano-cubana. el texto presta atención a la bibliografía de las dos últimas décadas, discute tópicos y explora posibilidades de estudio a partir de las lagunas que detecta y de conclusiones insatisfactorias de las que se dispone para determinadas cuestiones.

This text reviews the main topics and lines of research followed in the study of the War of independence of Cuba (1895-1898) in its aspect of spanish-Cuban war. the text pays attention to the bibliography of the last two decades, discusses topics, and explores possibilities of studies from the gaps it detects and unsatisfactory conclusions that are available for certain issues.
