El objetivo del presente trabajo es estudiar algunas de las características del desarrollo psicológico en la edad adulta de dos mujeres mayores de 60 años. Para llevarlo a cabo utilizaremos una metodología de investigación cualitativa denominada historias de vida y todo ello lo situaremos dentro del marco teórico de autores como Erikson, Havighurst y Baltes, y dentro de la perspectiva de la Psicología del Ciclo Vital. Con el fin de obtener toda la información posible acerca del periodo vital y hallar las diferencias y similitudes entre los participantes, hemos utilizado una adaptación de la entrevista semiestrucutrada de Triadó y Villar (2006). Las dos sujetos entrevistadas, encuadradas en la Etapa 8 de Erikson (2000) Integridad del yo frente a Desesperanza, presentan diferencias que las sitúan a cada una en un polo de esta etapa. El sujeto 1 ha hecho un balance positivo de su vida, está satisfecha con las decisiones tomadas y la contempla como un todo significativo, por lo que la situamos en el polo de Integridad del yo. En cambio el sujeto 2 se sitúa en el polo de Desesperanza ya que siente arrepentimiento de no haber vivido más experiencias durante su vida y en la actualidad se siente desilusionada y sin esperanza de que ocurran a partir de ahora hechos interesantes.

The objective of the present work is to study some characteristics of psychological development in adulthood of two women older than 60 years old. To carry out it we will use a qualitative research methodology called Live Histories and all this is situated within the theoretical framework of authors like Erikson, Havighurst and Baltes, and within the perspective of the Life Cycle Psychology. In order to obtain all the information about the vital period of our subjects and to find the differences and similarities between them, we used an adaptation of semi-structured interview of Triadó & Villar (2006). Both subjects are framed in Stage 8 of Erikson (2000) Integrity vs. Despair and they present differences that place them in each pole of this Stage. Subject 1 has made a positive assessment of his life. She is satisfied with the decisions made and she considers her life as a significant whole, so we place her in the pole of Integrity. On the other hand, subject 2 is situated in the pole of Despair because she feels regret for not having lived more experiences during her life and now she feels that anything interesting will take place in her future.
