Abstract

In this paper we have deepened on the role of the affective domain in learning mathematics (beliefs, emotions and attitudes), in teachers and primary and middle education. We want to check the relevance of this aspect in the school environment because we believe that good emotional development of students is necessary. Besides, why students keep failing at math? It was one of the main questions we ask when we do our work, and we have based our literature search , given that affection is not the only factor that influences learning. We conducted our literature search in ERIC and ProQuest database and Google Scholar, from studies published in 2010. The results of the review indicate that the affective domain is an important aspect in new research and closely linked to learning mathematics, so we must consider a change in the methodological perspective of teachers in the classroom, and improved quality of teaching
