Abstract

This communications takes as general reference the European Space of Superior Studies (ESSS), whose creation endeavoured an educative approach of all European Union countries. A new educational model needs new skills. The informational skills constitute one of the most important requires that a university student of the information society needs. So it is important to know how these university students are prepared in terms of research and abilities skills, in the use, articulation and diffusion of the information gathered and applied in different contexts especially the scholar one. Therefore, it is conceived a research project whose main purpose it to investigate the level of skills in Portuguese Universities; to establish a connection between apprenticeship and acquisition of informational skill in high school and in university; and to contribute to the Comportamento Informacional; e Ciência da Informação. definition of a strategy that allows Portuguese universities a good performance in the ability and skills to research and use of information and research skills and the ability to research and use the information, inserted in the adaptation process to the ESSS and to the informational/knowledge society. This research project was submitted to the Science and technology Foundation for support. The result is still expected. It is suitable to exploit the occasion to develop the concept of information literacy in the field of the Informational Science and in inside this area of study the informational behaviour. This concept brings with it other subjects as Educations and Cognitive Psychology, with which it should be, establish a fecund conversation.
