This dissertation explores the management and sharing of data within the CIIMAR Watch monitoring programme, which is dedicated to collecting multidisciplinary data from the north coast of Portugal. With the increasing volume and complexity of research data, the adoption of best practices in data management is essential to ensure accessibility, reuse, and long-term preservation. The study analyses the current data management practices used by the programme's researchers, identifies challenges and requirements for an efficient infrastructure, and suggests recommendations in line with the FAIR principles and international standards. The aim of this dissertation is to contribute to the further implementation of strategies that promote open science in the context of marine monitoring.
