This summary is a project of the Institute for Community Engaged Scholarship (ICES) at the University of Guelph, with project partners: the Catalyst Centre, SPARK Program at the University of Guelph, and Knowledge Mobilization Unit at York University. This project is part of the Pan-Canadian Research Impact Network. http://csahs.uoguelph.ca/pps/Clear_Research There are many important uses of starch in food and non-food sectors. Researchers are working to better understand the biosynthesis of starch so that they can increase starch yield and improve starch quality. This review article presents current knowledge about the synthesis pathway, the enzymes involved, and regulation of key enzymes. Project support by Agri-Food and Rural Link, Mobilizing Agri-food and Rural Research Knowledge. A program of the OMAFRA-U of G Partnership. http://www.uoguelph.ca/research/omafra/partnership/KTT_and_IP.shtml

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
