Aproximación bioética a la accesibilidad universal desde el enfoque de las capacidades de Nussbaum

Abstract

Este trabajo, encuadrado en una versión ampliada de la bioética, pretende un acercamiento a la idea de entorno universalmente accesible recurriendo a la concepción de la justicia de Martha Nussbaum. Consideramos que esta filósofa analiza la problemática social de las personas con diversidad funcional teniendo en cuenta la interacción entre la vulnerabilidad constitutiva humana, anclada en la fragilidad corporal, y la vulnerabilidad social que afecta a dichas personas. Indagamos en la conexión que, en relación a la accesibilidad universal, establece entre la vulnerabilidad y la obligación moral-política de proveer el conjunto de capacidades básicas. Finalmente, entendemos que su concepto de entorno facilitador permite adoptar una visión ético-política de la accesibilidad universal que, además de incluir condiciones sociales y materiales, tiene en cuenta la influencia del desarrollo de emociones positivas (compasión) y del freno de emociones negativas (vergüenza) en la configuración y mantenimiento de dicho entorno.
