En el presente ensayo se analiza la vinculación entre las novelas Canaima, del venezolano Rómulo Gallegos y la Vorágine del colombiano José Eustacio Rivera, en ambas se relata la explotación cauchera y la institucionalidad engendrada para tal fin. Además de mostrarse la esclavitud, el crimen y el irrespeto para el pueblo aborigen, mediante un Paraestado instalado en las selvas de las afluentes de los ríos Orinoco y Amazonas, allí donde se consolidó el monopolio de la explotación del caucho natural, ligado a los mercados internacionales en la nueva era del automóvil. Bajo la narrativa de Gallegos y Rivera, se ilustra cómo se desangran los trabajadores, nativos y la Hevea Brasiliensis para el robustecimiento de las empresas caucheras, para las cuales no existen reglas éticas ni morales

This essay analyzes the link between novels Canaima, Venezuela ́s Rómulo Gallegos novels and the Voràgine of the Colombian José Eustacio Rivera, both relates the rubber exploitation and the institutionality beget for this purpose. In addition to showing slavery, crime and disrespect for the Aboriginal people, by means of a parastate installed in the jungles of the tributaries of the Orinoco and Amazon rivers, where was consolidated the monopoly of the exploitation of natural rubber, linked to international markets in the new age of the car. Under the narrative Gallegos and Rivera, is illustrated how workers are bled, native people and Hevea Brasiliensis for the strengthening of the rubber companies, for which there is neither ethical nor moral rules.
