Abstract

Las monedas constituyen una divisa para los interc ambios o la acumulación de riqueza, pero su gran difusión las convierte tambié n en un medio idóneo para incluir mensajes que definan y expresen el carácter de la entidad ac uñadora. En este artículo, a través del análisis de la iconografía, la leyenda y los símbolos de las monedas de Alejandro Magno y sus Sucesores, pretendemos acercarnos a la mentalidad y los objetivos de cada uno de estos gobernantes Coins constitute a currency for commercial exchang ing and wealth accumulation, but their wide circulation also makes them an ideal veh icle to include messages that define and express the nature of the minting authority. In thi s article, through the analysis of the iconography, legend and symbols of Alexander and th e Diadochi's coins, we try to approach the mindset and objetives of these rulers.
