Abstract

Résumé: Cette étude, portée sur la nalure dans l'oeuvre de Jean Ginno, nous offre un sujet lrop vaste chez un romancier consacré pendant plus de quarante ans a l'observation minutieuse des forces naturelles. Ginno. boulimique de lecture et attaché au terroir de sa paisible Provence, nous laisse un témoignage vif de la nature et de la vie. Elant donné la complexité du sujet nous aclons sélectionné trois romans: Le chant d u monde. Le hussard sur le toit et Le moulin de Pologne. Lepremier des romcns conslitue un chanr lyrique a la nature, ou plutbt un chant cosmique de l'univers. Le hussard sur le toit. développe un sujet d'inspiration historique: l'épidemie de choléra qui déferle sur la Provence en 1832. Le traitement de la nature a changé mais elle continue encore a y 2tre présente pour déterminer le destin des hommes. Dans Le moulin de Pologne l'agencement est si étroit entre les personnages el les événements que l'on débouche sur l'énigme. Mais, ici, les rapports entre les individus et la nature deviennent imperceptibles. Nous avons étudié le moyen d'expression choisi par Giono, dans ces romans; toute une série de métaphores et d'images littéraires lraduisent l'ordre naturel. La nature acquiert une portée symbolique. En général nous constatons que la nature, meme si elle se montre sous des formes changeantes, elle constitue toujours une composante permanente de l'univers gionien.
