The article stresses the importance of values, norms and institutes in political affairs. So, the philosophical ethics is regarded as the fundament to the evaluation what is better (not only correct) in political actions. The political ethics unifies both individual ethics and the social ethics. Questions about a good arrangement of common affairs cannot be answered in positivistic way without valuse but only during the normative assessment. Here, values orientations as e. g. sustainable life, peace, freedom, justice are aimed. Ethical principles of personality, solidarity, common good, subsidiarity and cooperation are discussed. Components of politics and in the international politics. In this way, the article represents an oveview of important topics in today political ethics.
