A educação em saúde na perspectiva de graduandos de enfermagem

Abstract

En el campo de las acciones de salud existe una diversidad de modelos de educación en salud. Este artículo tuvo como objetivo identificar las concepciones de educación en salud de los estudiantes del último año de la carrera. Se trata de un estudio exploratorio descriptivo, estructurado a partir de un abordaje cualitativo. Los campos de desarrollo del estudio fueron la carrera universitaria de Enfermería de la Universidad Federal de Santa Maria y de la Universidad Federal de Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Participaron del estudio los estudiantes del último semestre de los respectivos cursos. La recolección de datos se realizó por medio de entrevista semiestructurada y los datos obtenidos fueron sometidos al análisis de contenido temático. Los resultados sugieren que la formación del alumno en la carrera universitaria de enfermería como educador en salud, está impregnado por concepciones que mezclan presuposiciones tradicionales y otras más modernas de educación en salud.

Trata-se de um estudo exploratório descritivo, estruturado a partir de uma abordagem qualitativa. Os campos de desenvolvimento do estudo foram os Cursos de Graduação em Enfermagem da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria e da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Foram participantes da pesquisa os graduandos do último semestre dos respectivos cursos. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevista semi-estruturada e os dados obtidos foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo temática. Os resultados sugerem que o preparo do aluno de graduação em enfermagem como educador em saúde é permeado por concepções que mesclam pressupostos tradicionais, e pressupostos mais modernos de educação em saúde.

In the field of health practices, there are different models of health education. The objective of this article was to identify undergraduates’ concepts of health education. This descriptive exploratory study used a qualitative approach. It was developed in the Undergraduate Nursing Courses of the Federal University of Santa Maria and Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Subjects were undergraduate students of the last semester before graduation. Data were collected using a semistructured interview, and submitted to thematic content analysis. The results suggest that the undergraduate nursing students’ training as health educators is permeated by concepts that are a mixture of traditional and modern assumptions on health education.
