Abstract

This paper aims at reporting the experience undergone upon the third edition of the “UFRGS Open Doors” event held at the School of Nursing of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (EEUFRGS) in 2005. The event was planned, scheduled, and organized by its authors. The university defines this activity as an action that provides the opportunity of an approach between society and university. The EEUFRGS received 119 visitors, who participated in health, education and information activities about the nursing undergraduate course and what the profession involves. This event gives visibility to nurses´ social practice and to the School of Nursing, and it has been repeated and updated every year.

Este artigo relata a experiência vivenciada pelas autoras no planejamento e organização da terceira edição do “UFRGS Portas Abertas” realizada na Escola de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (EEUFRGS) em 2005. A universidade define essa atividade como uma ação que proporciona a aproximação entre a sociedade e a universidade. A EEUFRGS recebeu 119 visitantes que participaram de ações de saúde, educativas e informativas sobre o Curso de Enfermagem e as funções do enfermeiro. Este evento proporcionou visibilidade da prática social do enfermeiro e da EEUFRGS e tem se repetido e atualizado anualmente.

Este artículo relata la experiencia vivida con motivo de la tercera edición del evento “UFRGS Puertas Abiertas”, realizado en la Escuela de Enfermería de la Universidad Federal del Rio Grande do Sul (EEUFRGS) en 2005. La universidad define esta actividad como una oportunidad de aproximación entre la sociedad y la universidad. La EEUFRGS recibió 119 visitantes que participaron de acciones de salud, educativas e informativas sobre el curso de enfermería y las funciones del personal de enfermería. Este evento le da visibilidad a la práctica social del enfermero, a la EEUFRGS, y se repite y actualiza anualmente.
