Abstract

Integrated to the masters research that sought the emergence of the concept of Ethnomatemaetics, that has been developed inspired, among others, in the concepts of fiction and self-writing in Foucault, the present work aims to present a proposal of an ethnomatemaetic look through experiences of mathematics’ teaching constituted from what we initially called Mathematical Language. The theoretical support of the research was based on Discourse Analysis in Foucault, from a theoretical-bibliographic research. Starting from processes of writing and self-fiction, the students involved in the learning societies analyzed were encouraged to develop learning in the field of mathematics, producing individual meanings about fields of knowledge. Believing that all writing is a process of creation in a certain zeitgeist, we propose another look at Ethnomathematics, inviting researchers to experience a Mathematical Language, being part of the constitution of an Ethnomatemaetics.
