Análise semiótica de embalagens de alimentos industrializados orgânicos e convencionais

Abstract

Packaging is considered an important player in the market because they can pass messages to consumers through visual and tactile characteristics. In the food industry the packaging design is a powerful strategy for products sales. In the case of organic food products packaging, they have specific characteristics compared to conventional products, often seeking to emphasize such features, thus it is relevant to verify the differences and similarities between them. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze the trends in food and social values that are related to the design elements used on the packaging of organic and conventional processed foods. For this, departing from the semiotic methodology, initially was performed the description of the design elements, and following up addressed the higher levels of meaning related to the visual language of studied packaging. It was found that the main trends and social values associated with organic products include the healthiness, rurality and environmental sustainability, while conventional products are directed to gastronomization the commensality and convenience.
